is a tried and tested variety suited best for dryland conditions, but can be planted on irrigated soils. Complaints from planting on irrigated soils will be that the hay crop is stemmy and does not yield well. However Ranger is one of the most abuse tolerant varieties. It can survive short periods of drought, heat, flooding, and traffic. Ranger is very winter hardy, about a 1.8 or 2 rating with a fall dormancy of around 3.0. It is a tap root type alfalfa with a faster recovery than Ladak. Available pre-inoculated, non coated.

is a blend of 3 proprietary varieties suited for irrigated production. Mostly used by growers who like to harvest their alfalfa past bud stage. Growers have noted that it stands up and swaths better than other varieties at later maturity stages. Winter hardiness 2.0, fall dormancy 3.0 with very fast recovery. Great disease resistance. Available pre-inoculated, 34% clay coated.
is very winter hardy alfalfa suited for areas of higher elevation and harsher winters. Fall dormancy 2.8 means that it will come out of dormancy later in the spring and enters dormancy earlier in the fall which avoids late spring, early fall frost events which can damage the crowns in growing alfalfa. However a lower fall dormancy also means less opportunity for production. Winter hardiness 1.3, good disease resistance and recovery after harvest. Available pre-inoculated and treated, 34 % clay coated.
